We would tell you to look for other similar apps but one of those called Join seems to be experiencing the same problem. If not, just prepare yourself in the next few days if the Pushbullet extension does disappear from your Chrome browser. Also, every link you’ve sent shows up in the app. In the end, though, if you know you’re sending a link, hopping into the app to find it isn’t a big deal. Some Chrome developers have taken note of the problem on Twitter so hopefully this can be fixed soon. On iOS, you’ll have to open the Pushbullet app manually to find your link. While Pushbullet’s developers can keep on working and pushing out updates, there’s also a risk that they might get a permanent ban because of Google’s automated system that gives a permaban if it detects too many updates. They were initially given 14 days after the first notice but now, there are only 7 days left until the extension is removed from Chrome.Īndroid developers are oftentimes confused with the violation alerts from Google as they are never as clear as they should be. Before Continuity and Handoff were even announced, Pushbullet was already allowing users to quickly send notes, links, and photos between their devices with a few clicks. But 24 hours later, their extension was still rejected and did not give any further guidance as to how they should fix it. Pushbullet tried to reduce their permissions to the bare minimum and pushed out an updated extension based on what they understood from Google’s email.
The developers received an email from Google that there was some violation in the permissions but in true Google fashion, it did not say exactly what that violation was. It is a highly useful app for those that are working between multiple devices.

The Chrome extension is their most-installed app for desktop and there are more than a million people supposedly using this (this author included). It coms in th form of a wb app, two dstop clints for macOS and Windows and two mobil ons for iOS and Android.

I could just install Chrome on the tablet and use the extension as I do on my work laptop, but I do like to make things difficult for myself, and I am trying to show support for Microsoft Edge. I raised this issue on reddit, but unfortunately the Pushbullet devs were against implementing it as an option. Pushbullet lets you mirror notifications and send links, text, and files between various devices. My main gripe with Pushbullet on the tablet is that I would have to leave Tablet Mode to open the win32 Pushbullet beta app, then copy my link into a new push from there. By default, if you have both the Pushbullet desktop app and the Pushbullet browser extension installed, then Pushbullet notifications will only show in the desktop app, with no option to have them show in the browser.
